The Alert Bay May Day Celebrations are a time when the whole community comes together to celebrate. The celebrations are kicked off with a street parade and the crowning of a May Queen. There are races, a slow-pitch tournament, as well as arts and crafts and plenty of food.

The ‘Namgis First Nation Soccer Tournament is an annual sporting event held on Fathers' Day week-end. Be part of this community celebration and enjoy the Pageant and crowning of the Salmon Prince & Princess, which celebrates culture, and crowns 2 youth to acknowledge their high achievement in culture, including language, song, and dance. The sports day races are for all ages, and the yearly themed parade which winds its way from the Village to the sports field is located beside the Big House.

This is a very fun event, with game shows in the Sea Wall Family feud, adult/youth/child lip sync's, a market, jewelry, art, and ending with a 300 person celebration dance at the Seafest Cabaret
In between the fun, you can wander the craft/food/jewelry/carving you name it tables, Fear Factor, Alert Bay Style, Tsasala Cultural Group, Opening ceremonies,crowning of meet Mr. & Mrs. Seafest, watch the Baby Contest & maybe win the Shop Rite, Shopping Spree. Also don't miss the the fun of the Golden Girls Crochet Contest, Fantasy SeaLand Parade and Kids Zone
Enjoy this community event and attend the Opening ceremonies, watch cultural dance performances, enjoy a traditional salmon festival and the crowning of Mr. & Mrs. Seafest and attend the Seafest Cabaret. Explore the craft, food, jewelry, and carving tables, watch the Strong Man and Women Contest, the T'sasala Cultural Group, the Fantasy Sea Land Parade and enjoy the competition of the War- Canoe races.
Seafest is a free street and sea based event, with the only charge for the cabaret, and lip synch contest, a hilarious and entertaining romp through many eras with the whole community, young and old participating. It is a much anticipated event and the youth get their chance to take part during the day at the lip synch contest in the Village.
